What is ATRIDOX®?
ATRIDOX® is a prescription antibiotic (doxycycline hyclate 10%) delivered directly into periodontal pockets in a gel form. Once placed, it solidifies and slowly releases the antibiotic over 7 days, killing the bacteria responsible for gum disease at the source.
ATRIDOX® is used as an adjunct to scaling and root planing (deep cleaning). It targets areas that are difficult to reach with mechanical cleaning alone, significantly improving outcomes for patients with moderate to severe periodontal disease.
Kills bacteria directly in pockets
7-day sustained antibiotic release
No need to swallow pills
Minimally invasive application
Reduces pocket depth over time
Enhances scaling results
What is ARESTIN®?
ARESTIN® (minocycline hydrochloride 1 mg) is a locally administered antibiotic that comes in the form of microspheres — tiny, bead-like particles that are placed into infected periodontal pockets immediately after scaling and root planing.
The microspheres adhere to the pocket walls and slowly dissolve over time, continuously releasing minocycline for up to 21 days. This extended-release mechanism allows the antibiotic to work long after the in-office procedure is complete.
