BC Healthy Kids Program
What does the BC Healthy Kids Program cover? Dental — Children are eligible for $2,000 of basic dental services every two years. This includes services such as exams, x-rays, fillings, cleanings and extractions. Your dental care service provider can advise you of other services that may be covered. Emergency dental treatment for the immediate relief of pain is also available if the child’s two-year limit has been reached.
How do I apply for the BC Healthy Kids Program?
Canada Dental Benefit
The Canada Dental Benefit is an interim financial support measure implemented by the Canadian government to help families access dental care for children under 12 years old. The program provides direct, up-front tax-free payments to cover dental expenses for eligible children. Eligible families can receive payments up to $650 per child per year for two years if they have adjusted net income under $90,000 per year and without dental coverage. The program covers expenses retroactive to October 1, 2022. The benefit is administered by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)
